FAQ
Frequently asked questions for Australian venues
Answers for restaurants, cafés, bars and pubs in Australia: table bookings on a floor plan, a QR digital menu with recipe cards and food cost, table orders to the kitchen, ingredient stock, shift clock-in and sales reports.
Table bookings & floor plan
How do table bookings work with 4restaurants.net?
You draw the floor plan and place your tables on it. Bookings are made and tracked on the plan, so you can see at a glance which tables are taken.
Can I split the floor plan into rooms, such as dining room, terrace and bar?
Yes. Tables can be grouped into rooms or zones, such as dining room, terrace or bar, and each one appears on the plan with its own tables.
How do I stop a six-top being booked for two?
Each booking is placed on a table, so you choose a table of the right size for the party. The floor plan shows which tables are free at that time.
Digital menu, recipe cards & food cost
How does the QR digital menu work?
You publish the digital menu and place the QR code on each table or menu holder. The guest scans the code and sees the dishes you have on offer. You manage the menu in the application.
What does a recipe card contain?
A recipe card links each dish to its ingredients, with the portion weight of each one. From it, the application works out the food cost of the portion.
Orders, stock, shifts & reports
How does an order get from the table to the kitchen?
The order is entered in the application at the table and sent to the kitchen from there.
What can I track for stock?
The application shows the stock level of each ingredient, kept alongside your recipe cards.
How does the team clock in for shifts?
Team members record the start of their shift directly in the application. Pay rules, including penalty rates, follow the modern award that covers your staff.
Does it take payments or issue receipts?
No. Payments and receipts stay on your own till, outside the application. Check with your accountant what your till must show.
Can I see what each waiter sold?
Yes. Reports show sales per waiter, per day, so you can review each waiter's sales.
What reports can I see?
The application produces reports by day, by dish and by waiter.
Features & setup
Does 4restaurants.net connect to other software?
The application covers bookings, the floor plan, the digital menu, orders to the kitchen, stock, shift clock-in and reports in one account. If you need a link to another system, ask us in writing first, and we will confirm what is supported.
What features does the application include?
Table bookings on a floor plan per table, room and time, a QR digital menu, recipe cards with portion weights and food cost, orders sent to the kitchen, ingredient stock levels, shift clock-in, and sales reports by day, by dish and by waiter.
How do I set it up from the start?
You create your account, draw the floor plan and add the menu with its recipe cards. Setup is managed from the dashboard.
