How is a table order note different from a fiscal receipt?
The order note and the bill in the application keep the record of the table: what was ordered and what is due. The fiscal receipt is a different document, issued by the electronic fiscal cash register.
Short answer
- The order note is the table’s document in the application: what was ordered and what it costs. It is not a fiscal receipt.
- For cash payments the law requires a fiscal receipt issued by the electronic fiscal cash register (OUG 28/1999, art. 1).
- In August 2025 ANAF stated that receiving only a payment note instead of a fiscal receipt is contrary to the law.
- 4restaurants.net does not issue fiscal receipts and does not connect to the cash register: the receipt stays on the restaurant’s register.
- For card payments, ANAF stated in August 2025 that the operator has no obligation to issue the receipt, but the customer can ask for it.

What 4restaurants.net does
- Keeps the order note and the table bill, without fiscal value.
- Deducts ingredient stock when the order is fully paid, not when it is sent to the kitchen.
What it does not do
- It does not issue a fiscal receipt and has no integration with the cash register.
- It does not process card payments: card payment is recorded manually, with no terminal.
