FAQ
Questions from UK restaurants, cafés and bars
Answers on table bookings, the QR digital menu, recipe costing, table orders, stock, shift clock-in and reports, with what the application does not cover stated plainly.
Table bookings and the floor plan
How do table bookings work with 4restaurants.net?
You draw the floor plan and place your tables on it. Bookings are made and tracked on the floor plan, so you can see at a glance which tables are booked for each time.
Can I split the floor plan into rooms, such as the dining room, terrace and bar?
Yes. Tables can be grouped by room or area, for example dining room, terrace or bar, and each area appears with its own tables.
How do I confirm bookings with guests?
The application can text guests a confirmation and reminder if you switch it on in Settings and connect your own 4notify account (Plus plan and above); it sends no email. Otherwise your team confirms bookings by phone or email, as you do now, and the booking stays on the floor plan.
QR digital menu, recipes and food cost
How does the QR digital menu work?
You publish the menu and place a QR code on each table or on the menu holder. The guest scans the code and sees the dishes, and you update the menu from the dashboard.
What does a recipe card contain?
A recipe card links each dish to its ingredients, with the portion weight of each one. From it, the application works out the food cost of the portion.
Table orders, stock, shifts and reports
How does a table order reach the kitchen?
An order entered in the application is sent to the kitchen, linked to its table.
What can I track for stock?
The application shows the stock level of each ingredient, counted against the recipes that use it.
How does the team clock in for shifts?
Team members clock in for their shift directly in the application.
Does it take card payments or print receipts?
No. Payments and receipts are not part of 4restaurants.net. Use your own till or card terminal, and ask your accountant which receipt rules apply to your venue.
Can I issue invoices with it?
No. Invoicing is not part of 4restaurants.net. Issue invoices in the accounting or invoicing tool you already use.
What reports can I see?
The application produces reports per day, per dish and per waiter.
Features and set-up
Does 4restaurants.net connect to other software?
It is one application for bookings, the menu, table orders, stock, shift clock-in and reports. Payments, invoicing, accounting and delivery platforms are outside its scope, so check how they will work alongside it before you sign.
What features does the application include?
Table bookings on a floor plan, a QR digital menu, recipe cards with portion weights and food cost, table orders sent to the kitchen, ingredient stock levels, shift clock-in, and reports per day, per dish and per waiter.
How do I set the application up from the start?
You create your account, draw the floor plan and upload the menu with its recipe cards. The set-up is managed from the dashboard.
