What software does a café need?
A café needs quick orders, recipes with gram weights for drinks and food, and a fiscal receipt for every cash payment. Below: what the application does and what it does not.
Short answer
- A café needs quick orders, recipes with gram weights and reports per item, not just a cash register.
- For cash payments the fiscal receipt is issued by the electronic fiscal cash register (OUG 28/1999, art. 1).
- 4restaurants.net covers dine-in and takeaway orders, the recipe book with food cost, stock per ingredient and sales reports.
- It does not issue fiscal receipts, has no online ordering and sends no email to guests; guest SMS is optional and goes through your own 4notify account (Plus plan and above).
What changes for a café
- Quick orders: the order is entered and sent to the kitchen with the send button, per course.
- Recipe book with gram weights: coffee, milk and syrups enter as ingredients, with the weight from the recipe.
- Stock per ingredient: deducted when the order is fully paid.
- Reports per item, category, hour and waiter.
A limit to know
Ingredients added as modifiers (for example plant milk) are deducted from stock, but they are not included in the production cost of the drink. The cost of a drink with modifiers must be checked separately.
What the application does not do
- It does not issue a fiscal receipt: the receipt is issued by the electronic fiscal cash register.
- It has no online ordering or delivery; guests do not order from the QR code.
- It does not work offline and has no native mobile app: it runs as a web application.
